    Overview - Client background Client name: Press Corporation Limited Industry: Public Company investing in different sectors of the Malawi economy Organizational Mandate: Maintaining a leading position in the private sector, and  in sectors where potential market growth is ascertained from the global economic and social trends Size: Over 200 employees Presence: Malawi Press Corporation PLC is a public company incorporated in Malawi, under the Companies Act 1984. It is the largest holding company in Malawi, and has interests in different sectors of the Malawi economy including: financial services; telecommunications; energy property investments; and hospitality and tourism. The highly diversified company has stakes in fifteen companies comprising eight subsidiaries, four joint ventures and one associate. Challenges - Context of the project Challenges faced Press Corporation Limited was dealing with longer time processing of PCL’s financial data, data entry duplication, and information sharing. The access across the group was also hard. Objectives of the engagement with TTCS PCL decided to work with TTCS to implement a system that will provide a platform to allow easier consolidation of financial data from the PCL subsidiaries into the head office.   Solutions & services implemented Scope of the project Financial accounting, financial controlling, materials management, real estate management, workflow and human capital management. Deciding factors to choose TTCS The main deciding factor was largely competitive bidding in line with what PCS was looking for. TTCS internal support to adapt to the new technology TTCS trained super users to be able to carry out transactions in the system and provided post go-live support.   Results - Business benefits An improved quality, quantity and timely processing of PCL's financial data. It enables better information for critical decisions and reduced reliance on legacy systems.     National Oil Company of Malawi

    Overview - Client background Client name: National Oil Company of Malawi Industry: Oil and Gas Organizational Mandate: To promote upstream Oil and Gas activities and ensure a competitive secure and sustainable supply of liquid Fuel and Gas Size: 501-1000 employees NOCMA's mandate is to manage Malawi's strategic fuel reserve facility. Promotion competitions in the Oil and Gas industry is also a mandate of NOCMA. And, promoting Oil and Gas exploring activities are also some of the company's mandate. Challenges - Context of the project Challenges faced All sales and purchase tractions were done manually. Record-keeping was a challenge, and the speed of processing management reports from the transactions done. The implementation of the budget was also a huge problem while working outside the system. NOCMA continued to grow and its transactions too. Management thought of new ways of simplifying work for employees and the whole organization in general. A decision was made to buy a ERP system to resolve some of the challenges.  Objectives of the engagement with TTCS NOCMA  advertised for procurement of the ERP, TTCS won the tender with SAP as the preferred ERP. The objective was to implement the ERP system to address the transaction gaps that NOCMA had.   Solutions & services implemented Scope of the project 1. Implementation stages (preparation, blueprint, realization, final prep, go-live and post-implementation) 2. 8 Modules (financial accounting, fleet management, sales and distributions, records management, human resource management, payroll, SAP Fiori, occupational health) 3. Infrastructure and support services Deciding factors to choose TTCS NOCMA followed a public procurement process. So the decision is not based on what management prefers but which entity tops the list in complying with the public procurement process during bid evaluation.    Results - Business benefits Benefits of the solution and/or service provided to solve the initial issues 1. Transaction speed improved 2. Management reports improved 3. Records management improved 4. Record trail improved Future plans NOCMA wants to continue using SAP and move towards more customization to have more alignment from the system with our business processes.
